I am just about done with my term as a summer VISTA, and I am really happy with what I have accomplished. I have successfully built capacity by creating a manual to teach volunteers how to keep track of other volunteers. This VISTA experience has been really rewarding.
Not only have I helped develop Syracuse Habitat as an organization, but I have also created another piece to put toward my portfolio and resume. This feels wonderful and I am really grateful of my VISTA experience. National Service is not for everyone, but if you are young and excited or just eager to help people then it is definitely worth checking out.
I am going to keep this post rather short today, because I have other odds and ends to tie up. Before I go, I would like to thank my readers and encourage them to continue to follow Syracuse Habitat in the future. It’s a really great program that has made a big difference in the Syracuse Community.
